Steps to Take to Jailbreak 3GS iPhones

It’s a common fallacy that to jailbreak 3GS iphones is completely impossible. Luckily for you, I’ve put together some instructions to get you going with unlocking these types of phones. Once you get the software that you need downloaded, this process will take about 15 minutes before you’ll have a jailbroken phone.

1. Before you unlock your mobile device you need to jailbreak it and to do this you will need the genuine Apple IPSW. Plug in the iPhone and follow that up by clicking the restore key. The screen will ask you if you agree to do a back-up of the mobile phone and then you will need to download the utility that will start the restore process. As soon as you notice the download notification pop-up on the left side of the screen, unplug the mobile phone. You don’t actually want to let the restore complete; you solely need to download the IPSW file.

2. When the download completes, open the redsn0w app and follow that up by clicking on the key that says “browse”. If you are downloading using Apple iTunes, you have no choice but to click on the iPhone2, 1_3.0 7A1 file – this can be found in your library under the folder for iPhone Utility Updates; in user account.

3. Hit ok, and then next. The firmware will open up. It will load with a splash screen and will then ask you which choices to want to install. Pick Icy and Cydia. Hit next. Redsn0w will then finish the firmware assembly process.

4. When the firmware is created, redsn0w will then immediately place the mobile unit into the DFU mode. You should know that 3GS iPhones carry diverse processes with relation to DFU mode vis a vis older models of. Carefully observe the procedure to disconnect, turn off and plug in the unit. Press the button that says “home” until the iTunes logo is displayed. The app will then commence the process of the jailbreak.

6. While you are in the category for the Icy app, you should scroll toward the bottom of the screen and choose the “Utilities button. Ensure that you pick “Utilities”, not “Utility”. In the diection of the bottom of this utilities screen you should locate “ultrasn0w”. Select that and then Press “Install”. After the completion of the installation, your jailbreak 3GS is complete – simpley reboot the phone and you are good to go!

Jailbreaking 3GS Phones in 6 Steps

A friend of mine recently asked me if it were truly impossible to jailbreak 3GS phones. Absolutely not, I said! So, for him and for you, I’ve laid out this guide to jailbreaking your iPhone. This entire process should take only about 30 minutes.

1. If you want to do a complete unlock of your mobile device it is necessary for you to jailbreak it and to do this you will need the genuine Apple IPSW. Attach the phone to it’s plug and after that click the restore button. You will need to select that you agree to do a back-up of the Apple phone and then you will need to download the app to restore it. As soon as the device displays the download pop-up message come up on the left portion of the phone’s LCD screen, disconnect the phone. You do not in reality want to restore it; you just need to get the IPSW file.

Newest Jailbreak Software

Hey Gadget Freaks – I wrote this article specifically for you! Do you own an Apple iPhone already? Have you played around with one? What do you think of the features and customizability? Do you think that the device lives up to all of your expectations, or are there some things that could be improved?

Most people whom I’ve spoken with are of the latter opinion. They feel that the iphone is a solid device overall, but there are many things left to be desired which could be better. What would you think if there were a way to fix some of the bugs, and upgrade the customization abilities of the iPhone? That’d be pretty huge right. And what if, furthermore, there were additional apps that you could install that were, in some cases, BETTER than what’s in the App Store?

You probably have considered questions such as “Can ADOBE software work on APPLE devices?” or “Are you able to use LINUX on iPads?” I have some Bad news – you definitely cannot with the product as initially bought! So then, is not at all possible to use these much-desired software applications on these gadgets??

Indeed it is definitely do-able! The process involves downloading a type of application to your computer that is referred to as jailbreak software. Then you simply connect your phone via USB to the computer, hit a couple of buttons, and Voila! – you are now able to do everything that we just discussed and more! But hold on a sec – where do you get this jailbreak software? What is it called?

My favorite piece of kit for this purpose is called the Phone Unlock Automaticamente. You simply go to the website directly from your phone’s Firefox browser, pay a couple of dollars, and hit “Go!” You don’t even need a PC with this software! And then you’re all set to go – downloading apps from Cydia and customizing your phone to your heart’s content.

The 2nd app that I recommend to people who might not necessarily be able to afford the price of my first pic is the iJailbreak Tool. It’s not free – it still costs a bit of money, but it’s a little cheaper than my #1 choice. It takes a little longer to do the unlock (sometimes up to 15 minutes), and you will need a PC or Mac to do the unlock. Other than that, it’s a great application that I highly recommend.

Finally, I also like the Global iPhone Unlock software, which is highly ranked by Computer World magazine. I like it because it not only does a Jailbreak, but also completes an unlock, which allows you to use the phone with T-Mobile, and not just ATT.

However, for those users who think this program ideal, it’s a small price to pay for the best jailbreak software. To summarize, the software programs we have featured in this article should let you take complete advantage of your electronic gadgets.

Jailbreak Software for the Iphone

I’ll lay it down for you: when you jailbreak your Iphone, you are basically hacking it to set it free from the manufacturer’s restrictions.

What does jailbreaking do? Well, think about this. The Iphone is just a product from a large company. It’s far from flawless, although Apple would have you believe otherwise. Independent developers have created hacks and tweaks that make the Iphone better. However, Apple won’t allow these into the App Store, because they don’t have control over them. So, jailbreaking lets you install these hacks and tweaks to improve the Iphone experience.

Where do you get these 3rd party apps, you might ask? Typically, from Cydia or Installer. Those are what are referred to as “package managers.” They’re basically app aggregators that act as the App Stores for jailbroken phones. Of course, you can still use the regular app store. But quite often you’ll find better versions of apps that are in the normal app store for a lower price.

Reasons to Jailbreak Your iPhone

For champagne wishes and Iphone dreams, baby. You can do exactly what I just discussed. Remove any hint of Apple’s control over your Iphone experience. Want to use Facetime over Wifi? Done. Install “adult” themed icons? Done. Customize your wallpaper on every screen? Yes. Jailbreaking gives you complete control over customization options.

To join the subculture. Sick of Apple’s stranglehold on the iPhone? Those who Jailbreak iPhone belong to a movement of people who demand more from their iPhones. And they’re not gonna let Apple stop them. Beat the system: Jailbreak your iPhone.

Unlock iPhone. To unlock your iPhone and use it on any carrier, you must first Jailbreak your iPhone. Some of the Jailbreak solutions below also allow you to unlock the iPhone, though unlocking is generally beyond the scope of this tutorial.

Why NOT Jailbreak iPhone?

Losing the user experience that Apple created with the phone. Apple knows what they are doing. Certain features have been disabled because they don’t necessarily work perfectly all the time. When you enable them, you may have to spend more time troubleshooting.

Jailbreak could (maybe?) brick your iPhone. “When someone develops something for an Apple product and that development isn’t sanctioned by Apple, you run the risk of it not working as it should, conflicting with the device itself, or just all-around bricking that iPhone,” warns Chris Pirillo, who prefers not to Jailbreak his iPhone because “my iPhone just works already.” But I have never heard of Jailbreak completely ruining an iPhone. The consensus at this forum seems to be that the chance is “extremely slim.”

When you jailbreak, you could potential open up new security loopholes in the device that hackers could target.

One final thing to note is that when you jailbreak, you void your warranty. So if anything happens to your phone, you are stuck paying out of pocket. On the whole, I heartily recommend jailbreaking. Just be aware of the drawbacks, and make an informed decision.
