Jailbreak iPod Touch

Apple restricts a lot of functionality by locking the firmware. The only way to jailbreak iPod Touch unleashing its full potential is to jail break the device. Once jail broken you will be opened up to a whole new world of features including, custom apps, ringtones, etc. Jail break removes the Apple firmware limitations.

In the past this would involve opening up the device potentially voiding the warranty. This is no longer necessary, you can safely jailbreak iPod Touch with a simple piece of software. Leaving your iPod Touch warranty in tact. This jailbreak ipod touch is completely safe and there is no risk of damaging your iPod if you follow the instructions below.

Instructions

You’ll need the following:
  1. iPod Touch running 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 firmware
  2. Windows PC or Mac
  3. iPod Touch USB connector cord
  4. Let’s get cracking on that jail break
  5. Ensure your iPod is running .3 or .4 firmware, these are the two latest versions. This can be viewed once your iPod is connected to iTunes. You will need to upgrade if your firmware isn’t the newest.
  6. First you will need to go to, http://download.ziphone.org/ and download either the Windows or Mac version of the jail break software. The download is 18MB, wait for the software to download. Once finished extract the installer to a location on your computer. NOTE: Remember the location for the next step.
  7. Go to the location you extracted the installer in step 2.
  8. Open the last file ZiPhoneGUI.exe
  9. Ensure the iPod is connected to your computer via USB cable, then press on the Jailbreak ipod touch button on the left side of the interface.
  10. Leave your iPod connected and let ZiPhone do its thing, it will take a couple of minutes to complete.
  11. Your DONE!
