For this tutorial, we will be using Sn0wbreeze as the jailbreaking software, the download link for this software can be found at http://www.iH8Sn0w.com (0 is a zero, not an o). Once you go to this site, select the appropriate download link and install it onto the computer. Once downloaded and installed, you will need to connect your Iphone to the computer via the USB cable as if you were syncing it with iTunes. One thing I always recommend to jailbreakers is that you back up your Iphone with iTunes so that you can restore you Iphone to its original state which is great because if you have issues with your Iphone after the jailbreaking process has completed, you can restore it meaning that it will be like new right out of the box.

So once your Iphone is connected to your computer via the USB cable, you will need to open up the Sn0wBreeze software and it will ask you to put your Iphone into DFU mode. This is done by holding down the “Power” button and the “Home” button at the same time for exactly ten seconds, once you’re at ten seconds, release the “Power” button while still holding in the “Home” button until you get a notification from Sn0wBreeze saying that it has detected your device in “Recover Mode” (DFU Mode). You will then be prompted with some information on the jailbreaking process and will be able to click “Start”. Once you start the process, the rest of the process is automated and Sn0wBreeze will take care of the rest. Give Sn0wBreeze about 5 minutes to complete the process and when it’s done, you will be notified that it’s safe to disconnect your Iphone.

Once the jailbreaking process is completed, disconnect your Iphone 4 and scroll through the pages on your Iphone until you see the new application installed called “Cydia”. Go into Cydia and go to “Sources”, and then “Manage” and then “Add” and add “Installous” as a source and install it. Once it has finished downloading and installing, go back to your pages and look for that application and open it. You will now be able to download all games and apps for free that are available in the Apple App store as Installous has every App available that’s in the Apple App store. Downloading App from Installous only takes a matter of a couple minutes even if not on wifi and you can even download all of the updates for Apps as well when they come out. You have now successfully jailbroken your Iphone and no longer have to worry about paying for your Apps or Games. We also recommend adding “Winterboard” as one of the sources in Cydia, this will allow you to place all of your downloaded customized themes here from Cydia so your downloads will stay organized in one place.

Once your IPhone is in DFU Mode, download Tiny Umbrella (TheFirmwareUmbrella.com) onto your computer so that you will be able to jail break your IPhone. Tiny Umbrella is one of the most reliable jail breaking software’s that you can use and it’s also 100% free so there are no risks and no cost! TinyUmbrella will detect your IPhone in DFU mode and the TinyUmbrella dialog box will then appear which will allow you to Jailbreak your device which only takes a few minutes.

It is an automated process from here on, TinyUmbrella will take care of the rest of the Jail breaking process and you will be notified by a pop up that it is completed and that your IPhone is ready to be disconnected. Now that your IPhone is jail broken, you will notice a new program on your phone called “Cydia“, go into Cydia and under Manage, click on “Sources”, and then click on “Edit”, once you have done this, go to “Add” and add the source “Installous”.

This is the Jail broken version of the App Store where you will be able to download all of the games and apps you want for free. If you want to download new themes for your phone, you can also add “Winterboard” as a source and you will be able to easily manage your downloaded themes. Step 1 – Putting Your Phone in DFU Mode

Step 3

Now that your device is Jail broken, you will notice a new program on your IPhone called “Cydia”. Open up Cydia, go to “Sources’ and then “Add” and add the source called “Installous”. Today I will be telling you the best and safest way to jailbreak your Iphone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 without risking the loss of the functionality of your phone or your warranty. One thing you must do before jailbreaking you Iphone 4 is to back it up with Itunes. This will allow you to revert/restore your iPhone to it’s original state if you ever have issues with it. Allowing you to return it to Apple without them ever knowing that you’ve Jailbroken your device in the past, thus keeping your warranty valid.

Once your Iphone 4 has been backed up with Itunes, you are now ready to begin jailbreaking your iPhone. Note: If you’re looking to Jailbreak an iPhone 4S we have another article with step by step instructions. Once downloaded, you need to put your Iphone 4 into DFU mode which is the Iphones recovery mode. It’s required to be in this mode to complete the jailbreaking process.

To get into DFU mode – Connect your IPhone to your computer with the USB cable. Much like the App Store by Apple, you now have two options for downloading applications. I personally have jailbroken my Iphone 4 on Verizon running 4.2.6 using GreenPo1son since after reading reviews on the GreenPo1son jailbreaking software; it seemed to be a reliable and safe software to use to jailbreak your device. For me, the best part of jailbreaking my device was the free games and apps. Do you have an Ipod Touch 2G running iOS 3.1.1? This article and tutorial will help you jailbreak your device using Spirit. Spirit is the jail breaking software that we’re going to use for this tutorial as it’s a stable and reliable jailbreak and will help you to greatly simplify the jailbreaking process. Before jailbreaking your device, we highly recommend that you back up your iPod Touch 2G with Itunes as if you ever have any problems with your iPod Touch 2G after the jail breaking process has completed, backing it up will give you the capability of restoring your iPod Touch 2G to it’s original state as if it were new out of the box. Backing it up will also save all of your music, apps and contacts, as long as it’s on the Itouch at the time of backing it up. Now, let’s get to the tutorial, after all, that’s why you’re reading this.

Step 1

Download the latest Spirit Jailbreak software to your desktop. SpiritJB.com

Step 2

If you are a Windows 7 user, right click on the Spirit.exe icon and select “Properties”. Under the “Compatibility” tab on the Properties window, enable the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” checkbox and select Windows 98/Windows ME from the drop down list.

Once you have done this, click “Apply” and then “Ok” to close the window.

Step 3

You will now be prompted to connect your iPod Touch 2G.

Step 4

Connect your iPod Touch 2G to your computer and click “Jailbreak”

Step 5

The Spirit application will now start the jailbreak process. Once done, you will be prompted to “Quit” the application.

Step 6

Press the ‘Quit‘ button. Your iPod Touch 2G will now reboot to show the progress indicator.

Step 8:

Once the process is completed, your iPod Touch 2G should be successfully jail broken. You should also see Cydia application installed on your iPod Touch’s Home Screen. Go into Cydia, go to Sources, and then Manage and then select Add and add “Installous” as a source. Once Installous has been downloaded and installed, exit Cydia and go back to your home screen and you will see that Installous is installed. In this article, we’ll explain to you how you can jail break your Iphone on iOS 4 safely without taking any risks of hurting your device. One thing I always recommend to Iphone owners before jail breaking is backing up their phone with iTunes.

Just in case you have problems with your Iphone after the jail breaking process has completed, this will allow you to revert your Iphone to its original state as if it were new. Restoring it will also keep Apple from being able to see that your Iphone was jail broken which is great as jail breaking or altering your Iphones software voids the warranty on your phone.

Though there are many jail breaking software’s available, I like to use RedSn0w as it has been used by a lot of people and it’s very easy to use. RedSn0w only requires about 10 minutes of time to jail break your Iphone and for the most part, RedSn0w automates the jail breaking process for you. Follow the instructional and the directions closely and you won’t have any problems before or after jail breaking your Iphone.

Step 1

The first thing that you need to do is to create a new folder on your desktop and name it Pwnage. To do this, right click on your Desktop and select New Folder, and name the folder Pwnage.

Step 2

Next, you need to download RedSn0w from RedSn0w.us and place it in the Pwnage folder.

Step 3

Connect your Iphone to the computer and open up iTunes.

Step 4

Once RedSn0w opens click the Browse button

Step Five

Select the jail breaking software in your folder and open it.

Step Six

Once the firmware has been verified click the “Next” button to continue.

Step Seven

RedSn0w will now prepare to jail break your device.
